It all started when...

In 1938, Grandpa Hugh Ranft began renting out a Maytag wringer washer to the neighborhoods in Seguin.  For pennies a week, all the ladies around could get their washing done.  He also provided repair services from his back yard for those who owned a machine.  That is how the Seguin Maytag Co. was born and the rest, as they say, is history.

By the 1980's Grandpa Hugh was slowing down and his sons Jim and Larry picked up the pace.  In 1987, Jim and his wife Venave built their own location at 950 S. Hwy 123 Bypass.  There you could find a fully-stocked showroom with a wide range of appliances, friendly counter staff to answer all your questions, and five technicians to fix your appliance problems at home.  For 30 years, Ranft Appliance Center provided services to the Seguin area from this location.

The youngest Ranft brother, Stephen, is the third generation owner of Ranft Appliance. Our new location at 208A Meadow Lake Dr. is a bit smaller, but the service is still top-notch. service fee

This fee covers the trip to your home to diagnose your problem and provide an estimate for repair.  It is a one-time fee and will not be charged again if we need to return with parts to complete the job.  $1 per mile is added for addresses outside of the Seguin city limits.  Additional fees apply for parts and labor to repair your appliance.  Due at time initial call is made.  We accept cash, checks, and all major credit cards.
